Found this poem in a stack of stuff I was cleaning out of my records here at work today.
The mind wanders
The eyes water
The days wander with wonder
And I wish I were wiser
And had you here with me
But wishes and fishes both
flash silver and go
so I sit full of memory
and I hold in my heart
the thoughts of our youth
It's signed with just my "LS IV" symbol, and the year 2001.
I have no idea what I was thinking about when I wrote it, but it's actually halfway decent, so I'm putting it here.
--
Is it really truth that we seek, or just a sweet enough lie to settle our minds so we can sleep at night?
The eyes water
The days wander with wonder
And I wish I were wiser
And had you here with me
But wishes and fishes both
flash silver and go
so I sit full of memory
and I hold in my heart
the thoughts of our youth
It's signed with just my "LS IV" symbol, and the year 2001.
I have no idea what I was thinking about when I wrote it, but it's actually halfway decent, so I'm putting it here.
